Crikey, Another Whiny, Drama Queen Episode with Barack Obama — The American Press Never Thanks Me (video)

Famous last words…
“Love means never having to say you’re sorry” (Love Story).
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn” (Gone With the Wind).
“You would think they’d be saying thank you” and “I knew it must have been an Australian because my folks never say thank you” (Barack Obama in the Chronicles of the Whiny Socialist White House).
Crikey, this man-child is going all wonky debutante-emo on us now while he’s on his international tour — another ghastly “I’m not appreciated” whine for the entire world to be stunned over. And for liberals to turn their eyes from in embarrassment — whining while he’s here in the United States is one thing, but to do it while in JAPAN is altogether another. Not manly, not presidential.
POTUS is becoming as uncomfortably needy as a gawky, self-absorbed teenage girl (it’s all about MEEEEEEEE!) with a few zits and no date for Saturday night.
Dingy Harry should buy him some flowers with a freakin’ thank you card signed “Love, Keith Olbermann and the MSNBC Fan Club,” and keep his sniveling hurt feelings in Japan until January.

Sometimes on long trips, presidents and reporters can get a little tired of each other.
Maybe that explains an exchange today between President Obama and the press in Japan, at the end of a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and near the end of a 10-day Asia trip. This is from the pool report (POTUS stands for President of the United States):
As pool filed out, a reporter said, “Thank you, Mr. President.”
Someone told POTUS it was an Australian.
“I knew it must have been an Australian because my folks never say thank you,” Obama said.
At that, the entire American pool said in unison — admittedly with a bit of sarcasm — “Thank you, Mr. President.”
PM Gillard could be heard chiming in, “There are a few cheeky Australians here.”
Americans, too, Madame Prime Minister. Americans, too.
So… blatantly biased, dewy-eyed sycophant worshipping and softball questions and lack of any real investigative reporting by the left-wing media 24/7 for nearly two years wasn’t ENOUGH for this thin-skinned narcissist?
Remember all those times that George W. Bush whined and sniffled about Americans and the press not thanking him when he wasn’t bashing America while traveling in other countries?
Me neither. Pathetic.

Via Gateway Pundit’s new digs at Rightnetwork, Newsbusters is reporting that our president is upset that no American reporter ever gives the traditional “Thank you, Mr. President” at the end of press conferences.
It could be because it’s the senior White House correspondent’s job – a position, until recently held by Helen Thomas. But complaining about it is beyond petty and enters the realm of narcissism.

At first glance, Obama’s comment reeks of arrogance. He seems to think that press access is a privilege, not a right, and that he is under no obligation to even speak to reporters.
But remember, Obama’s media approach has been notable in that he has often circumvented traditional reporters in favor of new media and social networks. In doing so, he has been able to avoid tough questions, while still getting his message out – often to more people than would see, for instance, a cable news broadcast.
Either explanation speaks volumes about Obama’s attitude towards the press. Sure, journalists voted overwhelmingly for Obama over John McCain (a fact Obama himself has acknowledged). If that were not enough to secure the president’s good will, the media seemed to do everything in their power to make sure Obama’s path to the White House was clear, burying his connection to leftist radicals, and hyping racism accusations against his political opponents.
And yet, despite the hurdles American journalists have jumped over to get Obama in office, he still doesn’t like them, and apparently thinks they owe him, not the other way around. Go figure.
Please, Mr. President… grow a pair.

Samiam60 — I don’t know whether to be immensely fearful or flattered… ahhh, I’ll go with the latter. I was a Girl Scout leader for 7 years – I may not be a down-to-the-bone pioneer woman, but I can deal with roughing it, especially if grand patriots like you are in the FEMA camp with me.
