Wow, this was gloriously bizarre.
President Obama, our Whiner in Chief, made a quick dash to scoot out of his presidential press conference, in which an explanation of his compromise with Republicans on extending the Bush-era tax rates extension would be explained, so that he could attend a White House Christmas party. An extremely important press conference, considering the building anger it has caused for congressional Democrats and liberal voters.
But, hey, can’t keep Michelle Antoinette waiting. Barack skittered away, leaving former Pres. Bill Clinton to give his explanation. Clinton spoke for 20 or 30 minutes alone at the POTUS podium. Without a teleprompter.
Priorities, man, priorities.

Former President Bill Clinton gave a statement after his meeting with President Obama about his tax compromise with the Republicans.
However, after his statement, Clinton began to call on and take questions from the press with Obama at his side. Obama leaves promptly after a few moments and said he had to see Michelle, as he was keeping her “waiting.”
“I don’t want to make her mad, please go,” Clinton told Obama.

President Obama met with Bill Clinton on Friday. Clinton agreed to publicly back Obama on the tax/unemployment extension agreement with Republicans. Obama then brought Slick out before a hastily assembled press corps, and then left Clinton alone with them to work his Bubba magic:
In terms of Washington political drama, Friday was an instant classic.
President Obama ushered former President Bill Clinton to the White House briefing room late Friday for an impromptu press session, then abruptly left the wonky and winsome Arkansan at the podium by himself to defend the Obama administration’s tax deal.
“I’ve been keeping the first lady waiting for about half an hour, so I’m going to take off,” Obama said.
Clinton chuckled, joking, “I don’t want to make her mad. Please go,” and then quickly turned back to the microphone and began taking questions from the White House press corps, which had been given no advance notice of the two presidents’ trip to the briefing room.
The press corps will now report back to Obama’s very disenchanted left-wing base and the rest of those who are contributing to Obama’s perpetually foundering poll numbers of how it reminded everybody in the room of a happier, more competent time — and somebody on Team Obama thought this was good idea?
A few minutes in, President Obama excused himself because he had to “get to a Christmas party.” Clinton barely batted an eye while continuing to take questions for another half-hour under the “White House” backdrop, leaving onlookers with a palpable “let the adults take over now, Barry” feeling…

That was the most surreal thing. Obama said he was keeping the First Lady waiting and had to go. That left Clinton to vouch for the tax deal and relive his glory days.
Obama has just announced what we’ve all known…he’s simply not up to the job.
It was equal parts funny, pathetic and quite frankly, a little scary.

Last thought: Obama (when he isn’t running off to parties) says we should let the tax rates on the ‘rich’ go back to the Clinton rate. Well, the mid and low end rates were also Clinton era rates. Isn’t Clinton saying, “hell no, don’t go back to the rates during my presidency. Stick with the George W. Bush rates, they are better?”

Obama is isolated far more than we see and the Obama regime is far more delusional than we can know. It is fair to say, in my opinion, that the current occupant of the Oval Office is in sharp retreat from the facts of the moment. He only hears the reassuring voices of David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett and does not hear the raucous laughter emanating wildly from the Beltway.
If you think this is a breakdown of the Obama regime, you underestimate what you are witnessing. Clinton rode to the rescue. What did Obama walk away from? The job of the presidency.
Will there be more ShamWow Chronicles over the next two years? Only time will tell.
