Heartbreak: Christina Taylor Greene, age 9, the youngest victim in yesterday's Tucson, AZ shooting - Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was the target of the assassination, but survived; six people at the 'Congress at Your Corner' gathering were murdered, many others injured
My heart breaks for the friends and families of Phyllis Scheck, Dorthy Morris, Dorwin Stoddard, Judge John Roll, Gabriel Zimmerman, and Christina Greene, all who were senselessly killed yesterday by a madman in Tucson, Arizona.
Words cannot fully express the wrenching pain I feel for all the victims’ families, and most certainly the mother of 9-year-old Christina Greene, the youngest of the six people who were victims of the murderous shooting rampage of deranged 22-year-old Jared Loughner yesterday outside a grocery store at a “meet-and greet” in Tucson. As a mother, I can think of nothing that would be more devastating in my life than what has happened to this family.
Her mother says of her daughter in this FOX interview in the video below, “She’s my angel” and “Christina’s light shines on all of us.” Christina was born on September 11, 2001, one of the worst days for death and bloodshed at the hands of Islamic madmen in American history. And now, in her untimely death, this precious child, who was full of life and was deeply interested in government, is an integral part of one of the most abhorrent days of mass murder and bloodshed in the state of Arizona, and one of the worst in recent American history.
Born on a day of tragedy, died on a day of tragedy. Grim, horrific irony.

Michelle Malkin has this information on the identities of all the shooting victims who died from their gunshot wounds:
The Pima County Sheriff has confirmed that five people were pronounced dead at the scene, and a 9-year-old later died at a local hospital.
The deceased have been identified as: Judge John Roll ,63; Dorthy Murray, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; Christina Greene, 9; Phyllis Scheck, 79; and Gabriel Zimmerman, 30.
Zimmerman was [Giffords'] aide and was engaged to be married.

Six people were killed Saturday when a gunman attacked Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Those killed:
* Christina Greene, 9,who was born in Maryland on 9/11. She was featured in a book called “Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11″. A neighbor took her to the event, thinking the girl would enjoy it. We’re told the neighbor was also shot.
* Gabriel Zimmerman, 30, was recently engaged to be married, was Giffords’ director of community outreach. He graduated from University High School in 1998 where he was active in student government. A vigil was held tonight by his friends who described him as “caring,” “motivated,” “a free spirit,” and “a man who understood how to live life”
* U.S. District Judge John Roll, 63, earned his law degree from UA in 1972. Roll was nominated to the federal bench in 1991, and has been the chief judge of the district of Arizona since 2006.
* Dorwin Stoddard, 76, was a church volunteer. When the shooting started, Dorwin tried to protect his wife by laying on top of her when the shooting started. She was wounded in the attack.Others killed:

TUCSON, AZ – The identity of the nine-year-old tragically killed in Saturday morning’s shooting rampage in Tucson, Arizona is Christina Taylor Greene.
Greene is one of six killed in front of a Safeway grocery store while awaiting to talk to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who had set up a townhall-style meet and greet event. Five people died at the scene. Greene died at a local hospital.
Greene’s family says she was vibrant, excited about life, and she was the “best daughter in the world.”
Born September 11, 2001, Greene was excited about the political process, was on the student government, and went to the Giffords event Saturday to learn more about the political process, family members say.
Greene attended Mesa Verde Elementary School. She was the only girl on the Canyon Del Oro baseball team. She loved the sport, as well as horseback riding and swimming. She wanted to be a veterinarian.

(NewsCore) – Further details continued to emerge Sunday of the six people killed by a gunman targeting US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) at a public event in Tucson, Arizona.
Those who died at the “Congress on Your Corner” event Saturday were identified as John Roll, 63, a federal district court judge; Gabriel Zimmerman, 30, Giffords’ aide; Christina Greene, nine, a student at Mesa Verde Elementary; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; Dorothy Morris, 76; and Phyllis Scheck, 79.
Judge Roll attended the event to thank Giffords for signing a letter that helped in an issue related to his federal judicial district.
He was known within the Tucson legal community as a conservative and even-handed jurist who worked hard to increase funding for an overstretched Arizona federal bench, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The shooting’s youngest victim, Christina, had just been elected to the student council at her school and went to the event with a neighbor who thought she might enjoy it.
The nine-year-old, who died at a local hospital shortly after the shooting, was born on Sept. 11, 2001, and featured in the book, “Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11.”
She was described by members of her family speaking to The Arizona Republic as a “real special and real sweet” girl who enjoyed ballet and baseball.
A former social worker, Zimmerman was Giffords’ community outreach director and was engaged to be married. “He truly loved to help people,” C.J. Karamargin, Giffords’ communication director, told Fox News.
Stoddard, a church volunteer and retiree, had traveled just one mile from his home in Tucson to attend the event along with his wife, Mavanell Stoddard, who was injured in the shooting.
Friends remembered him as “a terrific guy” who loved to travel the world with his wife.
No details have emerged yet on Morris and Scheck, the shooting’s other two victims.

She wanted to attend the event to see real government in action.
Westboro’s founder, Fred Phelps has run in several Kansas Democratic Party primaries, but has never won. In his most successful bid, as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1992, he received 31 percent of the vote.
Phelps was an enormous supporter of Al Gore 1988 Democratic Party primary election and in 2003 wrote a letter to Saddam Hussein, praising his regime for being “the only Muslim state that allows the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be freely and openly preached on the streets.”
