Left-wing media's disturbing, HYPOCRITICAL message to 'Fire on the Right': Why is this target on the Capitol, displayed last night on Chris Matthews' 'Hardball' show acceptable to leftists, but Sarah Palin's district map is not?
The above image was captured from last night’s “Hardball” hosted by left-wing extremist Chris Matthews. Hot Air Pundit, the first blog to my knowledge to post the image, also asks Why is Chris Matthews Displaying A Target and Crosshairs on the U.S. Capitol?:

This is a screen grab from the opening 2 minutes of Chris Matthews Hardball Thursday night. Next to him is a picture of the U.S. Capitol building with a bullseye target on it along with gun crosshairs.
After all we’ve been through the past two weeks and all the nonstop criticism of Sarah Palin for using crosshairs on a political map from this very person and his colleagues at MSNBC, Matthews tosses this out there. And what does ‘Fire on the Right’ mean? What message does this send to someone who is flipping through the channels? Did we not hear day and night that this symbolism is unacceptable? CNN is apologizing for using the word crosshairs and Matthews is displaying them on the U.S. Capitol. Will he issue an apology? Will we hear from MSNBC? We will see.
As I’ve pointed out in a previous post, ridding our language of specific gun-or-target-related metaphors is ridiculous and impossible, as the leftists who want us to do that very thing have proven. Additionally, not a single critic of Sarah Palin’s has provided a microscopic shred of evidence that her political map or any other remarks made by tea partiers/conservatives had anything whatsoever to do with crazed leftist, nihilist murderer Jared Loughner’s shooting spree in Tucson, Arizona on January 8.
As shown below, Palin’s election district map below has been denounced non-stop for nearly two weeks, but the Democrats’ election district map below that is just peachy keen and A-OK, as is Matthews’ bizarre target graphic above.
This is Palin’s election district map (personally, I think the little crosshair images on her map look more like flying saucers or snowflakes)… it’s considered violent by liberals, a call to arms that reportedly compels people who look at it to commit mass murder, so Palin is ripped apart by the liberal jackals as a “threat” to America and they believe she must be held accountable for (and/or KILLED for) the murders of six people in Arizona, per irrational leftists — even aging leftist comedienne Joan Rivers blames her for the Arizona murders. And we all know how Joan “Can we talk?” Rivers is the uncontested barometer for “non-offensive” language over the years in her comedic routines, so, golly gee, it must be true.

This is the Democrats’ election target map… violent language has been underlined. However, inexplicably, this is not considered violent by the same liberals who want to destroy Palin for her election map. Some websites have gone into great detail, using muddled logic — much like that of the Red Queen’s from Alice in Wonderland — to haughtily, hurriedly explain why Palin’s map is “bad” and the Democrats’ map is “good.”
What rubbish — even a fifth-grader could identify the hypocrisy here.

Check out the pummeling Ronnie Junior got last year for his vicious attacks on Sarah Palin… from none other than conservative “Wonder Woman” Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs. She nearly made him CRY when she compared this snot-nosed leftist to his legendary father, who Junior is now smearing in his latest hack job book.
Leftwing self-proclaimed socialist at MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell, lambasted Rush Limbaugh and Majority House leader John Boehner last week, but was hypocritically silent about Rep. Steve Cohen’s despicable comparison of Republicans to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels. More than half the states in the country are now suing the federal government to repeal ObamaCare — all these people are now Nazis, per Rep. Cohen, because they don’t want the Democrats’ ill-conceived, power-grabbing, unsustainable, jobs-killing, trillion-dollar mess of ObamaCare. Rep. Cohen, by the way, is on the Socialists in Congress list.
Kudos to left-of-center Anderson Cooper at CNN for not letting Rep. Cohen, a Democrat congressman from Tennessee, off the hook for his vile remarks in his House floor speech this week.
Calling those who don’t agree with you or don’t want government-run health care a “Nazi” or using Nazi figures in similes isn’t civil, Mr. Cohen — Democrat leaders aren’t exempt from stopping their attacks, slurs, and violent rhetoric. Too bad hypocritical Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews, Schultz, and many Republicans and Democrats in our Congress didn’t call Cohen on the carpet about the offensive Nazi comparison as Anderson surprisingly and rightfully did. But the liberal media was largely silent when disgraceful Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida did it (some of the whacked out names he called Republicans included al Qaeda terrorists, whores, vampires, as well as Nazis) and when left-wing zealot Rob Reiner said tea partiers are like Nazis a few months back.
Just like the metaphorical drunken sailor has difficulties refraining from using profanities, smug leftists want all others to abide by nonsensical rules of conduct that they themselves cannot adhere to.
Another “shooting off their mouths” hypocrisy.

The Democratic bullseye map is from SEVEN years ago! I find it hilarious that the conservatives can counter the librals with one (very old) map and one quote from President Obama. BTW…..have you seen the latest (person I can’t slam)’s approval rating? 19%
As for the graphic on Hardball — The actual transcript is nothing close to the one edited to fit their agenda that Newsbuster has. I’m not wild about Chris Matthews either, but at least I don’t go out of my way to twist his words.

Her’s a good topic of discussion: If the conservative/right/republican/teabaggers want less government, then there should be no ban on same-sex marriages. The government has no right or need to intrude on what people do in the privacy of their homes. Look at it this way….more marriages = more marriage licenses = more money going into local coffers = more jobs, more adoptions, fewer divorces and less government spending on worthless studies.
Maps don’t kill people. People kill people. It doesn’t matter if the Democrat map is 20 years old. It has TARGETS on it. Dems started this stupid thing, so now they have to squirm and wiggle when they are doing the same thing.
I believe the hypocrisy of the MSM is obvious by showing that target on Matthew’s show and the target map of the DNC and trying to ignore the similarities but blaming Palin for murder becuase of her map. I personally don’t have a problem with the DNC map or Palin’s map. It’s used in politics and businesses all time. Saying any map caused the shooting is totally nuts.
The point is that Democrats pretend like lying children that Palin’s map caused the tragedy shooting but if they show targets, its no biggy. Bullsh!t to that.
Palin’s approval will go back up once idiots realize how the Democrat media duped them. But they had to do it nonstop for 2 weeks. They really hate her and went ballistic to tie her with her map to the shootings.
Did you actually watch Hardball or read the transcript? Chris Matthews was merely pointing out that targeting political rivals is nothing new. I agree the graphic was in poor taste. But all MSM cannot be lumped into the same basket with a show such as Hardball. It is an opinion-based/infotainment show, not truly a hard news show.
No one but Jared Loughner knows why he did what he did. I wonder what the right-wing’s reaction would have been, had all things been equal, but the victims Republicans.

I don’t watch Hardball, but the graphic is indeed deplorable only because liberals say it is – unless it’s on a liberal show. Double standard here. Personally, I think this whole thing is nonsense – that target on the Capitol is NOT going to incite violence. I wouldn’t even say it was in bad taste (except, now because some liberals are demanding that the “speech police” jump in and keep all language gun-free or target-free, I’m merely throwing what they demand back into their faces). If Glenn Beck had posted the exact same graphic (an infotainment source on the right), the MSM would be going crazy over it, decrying and attacking him. Because it was Matthews, they’re silent. If it had been on Palin’s website, the same 24/7 fake outrage would have ensued from the lamestream media. And that’s the point I’m making about the blatant double standard in the media.
I can’t speak for all conservatives, but since I never condone violence and if indeed Loughner had been proven to be a tea partier or a conservative, I would have railed on his actions, perhaps even harsher, since tea party principles are based on a higher level of integrity and government accountability. Unlike many liberals (CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Barbara Walters are to be noted, as I’ve written before, for rising above the partisan nonsense this week and to not ignore the facts), a person’s political affiliation is not a freebie for vile or violent acts.
If the victims had been Republican, what would have been the reaction??? What an astonishingly chilling and ridiculous thing for you to suggest. Murder is murder, Janet. It’s deplorable, no matter who does it, no matter who is the victim. Would this be less of a tragedy to YOU if the victims were not liberals? Of course not (I’m assuming that would be your reaction, but perhaps not). A person’s political affiliation is immaterial to all the conservatives I know. Check all my posts, go ahead. Do I EVER make light of the fact that it was a Democrat gathering or that killing Democrats is justified, but that killing Republicans is not? NO, I don’t. In many polls, because of the liberal media’s zeal to promote their unfounded “theories,” a high percentage of people believe the cause of Loughner’s massacre was either the fault of Palin, Limbaugh, the tea party movement, Glenn Beck, or a mix of them all. Despite forthcoming information from his friends and the FBI investigation at his home and those who knew him, he never watched political shows, was not a Christian, was never a conservative, never attended a tea party. It’s becoming apparent he has a mental illness that goes beyond current events or politics. But still, the left-wing media, left-wing politicians, and celeb left-wingers like Michael Moore, Joan Rivers, Jane Fonda, Roger Ebert, and others continue to falsely, ignorantly link him to their perceived “enemies.” With NO PROOF. If you can’t acknowledge the hypocrisy in that, then any presentation of facts and common sense is futile. You’ve closed your mind, and I pity you, because you’re being played.
If there are conservatives who are indeed tweeting that they want to kill Loughner, as liberals did/do about shooting Palin or other conservatives, they would be just as heinous. But in all my research, I’ve not seen it from any conservatives. They fight back with information, with contacting our elected officials, with our votes, with spreading knowledge. Not with suggesting violence, not with orchestrated plans on how to construct lies or half-truths to smear Democrats. Most of us are constantly being shocked by the lies from the media and liberals. Shocked, because we don’t do it, so we actually don’t expect others to do it with such ease, with such vigor. Liberals (not all, but most) don’t want to debate with facts. Many have knee-jerk reactions to angrily silence conservatives, to physically hurt them, to call them racists, whores, murderers, terrorists, or Nazis when they don’t agree with them. I instead call them weasels and chuckleheads and jerks and liars. Which they are. Never do I or other conservatives rally others that if liberals bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun.
Limbaugh slammed Bush all the time, as did Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, and other conservative journalists and pundits for some of his actions while he was president – it would be refreshing for the liberal media to be less dewy-eyed adoring and to actually do their jobs to uncover the truth once in a while… Jake Tapper is one of the rare ones who makes an attempt to be balanced with this administration. His WH coverage attempts to be honest and not to turn a blind eye or misrepresent facts as most of the rest of the MSM does. MSNBC newscaster Contessa Brewer said some months back she was frustrated and disappointed that the failed Times Square bomber wasn’t a white conservative tea partier, but was an Islamic zealot. She wanted to paint the tea party movement as radical killers, but was saddened that she couldn’t. There is no evidence of any tea partier committing violence in the name of their mission, but there are many liberals who have done just that. Katie Couric is a joke of partisanship, as is Matt Lauer and the entire team on 60 Minutes.
Name for me JUST ONE of the conservative journalists/spokespersons in the televised news media of ABC, MSNBC, CBS, NPR, and CNN. How many conservative journalists have been hired at Media Matters, at New York Times, at most big liberal newspapers? Will be hard, since I believe the number is close to zero. FOX News just hired ultra-liberal Juan Williams and has others, and also has liberal guests on the show often. FOX is not perfect, but for balance (and yes, that’s highly subjective), it comes closer than any of the others.

The graphic that Hardball showed is hilarious. Wonder how the lefties will somehow justify it but believe that blood libel and conservative maps with little targets are wrong? Dang hypocrites. Liek the post said, it is muddled logic. Calling it logic tho is stretching it IMHO. Liberals for the most part don’t like logic because they can’t feel something from it. Facts are not important to the libs I know. Only what they FEEL. My aunt is a flaming lib and in her eyes Obama walks on water and can do no wrong & Chris Matthews & Keith Olberman are gods. I like Sarah Palin but don’t know if I’d ever vote for her for president. Excellent post with a tremendous amount of links to all the hypocrisy in the news media over the past two weeks. I hadn’t seen Palin’s famous map until now. You wrote the targets or crosshairs on it look more like “flying saucers or snowflakes” – I agree. And the comment made earlier about how old the democrat map is just plain silly. If targets on a map are causing people to murder (but they are not) then the Democrats should be apologizing for all the shootings and murders they caused with their Bush era map. But since maps don’t provoke people to kill other people, I doubt anyone died because of their map. Likewise with Palin’s. Liberals are strange and confusing people. I’ll never understand how their brains are wired.
Natalie – the lefties hate Sarah Palin because they know she inspires so many people. They wanted to hurt her in the press to ruin her political plans, to ruin her reputation. They have attacked her for more than 2 years and this map crap is just the latest lie theyv told. Did they attack the Islamic murderer at Ft Hood? No. Did they attack the Times Square bomber? No. Did they attack that man who flew his plane into the IRS bldg and killed himself and another man? Yes at first because they thought he was a conservative.
