Shocking and tragic. A radical Muslim from Kosovo opened fire on a military bus at the busy Frankfurt Airport, killing two US airmen in cold blood and critically wounding two others.

Witnesses said the gunman shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” and “Jihad, Jihad!” as he murdered the Americans. He fired nine times before his semi-automatic gun jammed — he was grabbed and subdued by other passengers until German police arrived and arrested him.

Heartfelt prayers go the families and friends of the murdered airmen.

FOX News: Shooting at Frankfurt Airport Involving U.S. Soldiers

From Deutsche Welle, Shooter kills two US airmen in attack on military bus at Frankfurt Airport:

Two men died and two were wounded at Frankfurt Airport on Wednesday, when a young man opened fire on a US military bus outside Terminal 2.

The US Air Force has since confirmed that all four of the victims were airmen, but spokeswoman Major Beverly Mock said she could release no further details on their identity until their next of kin have been notified.

“We don’t know the details, but I would like to express how shocked I am,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a joint news conference with visiting Portuguese prime minister, Jose Socrates. “We will do all we can to investigate what happened. It is a dreadful incident and Germany will do all it can to bring clarity to this matter.”

From Yahoo News, 2 US airmen killed in Frankfurt airport shooting:

FRANKFURT, Germany – Two U.S. airmen were killed and two others were wounded at Frankfurt airport Wednesday when a man opened fire on them at close range with a handgun, the first such attack on American forces in Germany in a quarter century. President Barack Obama called the shooting an “outrageous act.”

The alleged assailant, identified as a 21-year-old Kosovo man, was taken immediately into custody and was being questioned by authorities, said Frankfurt police spokesman Manfred Fuellhardt.

Family members in Kosovo described the suspect as a devout Muslim, who was born and raised in Germany and worked at the airport.

The attacker got into an argument with airmen outside their military bus before opening fire, killing the bus driver and one other serviceman, and wounding two others, one of whom was in life-threatening condition, Fuellhardt said. He said the attacker also briefly entered the bus.

The suspect then fled into the airport terminal, where he was quickly grabbed by two federal police officers and a U.S. airman who had pursued him into the building, authorities said. He was disarmed without incident.

The victims, part of a group of about a dozen members of an Air Force military police and base security unit, had just arrived from England, the Air Force said.

They had landed at Frankfurt airport, one of Europe’s busiest, and were waiting outside Terminal 2 to be driven to nearby Ramstein Air Base, which is often used as a logistical hub for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. The two wounded airmen were taken to a hospital.

From ABC News, Gunman Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ Kills 2 US Airmen in Germany:

A gunman shouting “Allahu Akbar” opened fire on a bus carrying U.S. airmen in Frankfurt, Germany, killing two and wounding two others before his gun jammed and he was subdued, officials said.

An ethnic Albanian from Kosovo was taken into custody and the FBI was heading an investigation because U.S. citizens were killed and to determine whether the shooting was an act of terrorism.

President Obama made an unscheduled appearance to say, “I am saddened and I am outraged by this attack” and U.S. investigators would work with German authorities and “spare no effort” to ensure that “all of the perpetrators are brought to justice.”

He added that the killings were a “stark reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices” of American servicemembers.

Sources told ABC News that the victims were on a bus at Frankfurt airport. The bus was marked United States Air Force and was carrying 13 or 14 people, plus the driver. U.S. intelligence is trying to determine whether the shooting occurred while the gunman was on the bus or while he was trying to board the bus.

When he opened fire, the gunman, identified as a long-term resident of Germany, shouted “Allahu Akbar,” according to sources. He fired nine times, killling two and critically wounding two others before the gun jammed and he was subdued by other passengers. While being wrestled into submission, the suspect shouted either “Jihad Jihad” or “Allahu Akbar,” sources said.

One of the dead was the bus driver, military officials said.

The servicemembers who were attacked were members of a Security Forces team assigned to RAF Lakenheath in Great Britain. They were being transported to Ramstein Airbase and were en route to support Overseas Contingency Operations, although their exact destination was not stated.

Rep. Patrick Meehan, R-Pa., said at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing today that the shooting looks like it could be a terrorist attack. Meehan said he was briefed by his staff, who are continuing to collect information.

The gunman was identified by sources to ABC News as Arid Uka, although other spellings give his name as Arif Uka. Although he has lived in Germany for years, he is a citizen of Kosovo and his family is from the northern town of Mitrovica.

From Mail Online, Kosovan Muslim who ‘shouted Islamic slogans’ before shooting dead two U.S. airmen at Frankfurt airport was an employee:

Two American airmen were shot dead and another left fighting for his life today after a Kosovo Albanian gunman stormed their bus before opening fire at Germany’s busiest airport where he allegedly worked.

Officials said the gunman, identified as Arid Uka, 21, shouted out ‘Islamic slogans’ before opening fire.

He gunned down his first victim as the soldier stood in front of the vehicle at Terminal 2 before turning his weapon on the driver as he sat behind the wheel.

A fourth man was lightly injured and both he and the gravely wounded man are now being treated at the city’s University Clinic Hospital.

A German official told Fox News Channel that one airman was smoking a cigarette when the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot him.

Another serviceman was gunned down as he returned a luggage trolley.

The attacker, reportedly wielding a knife and a handgun, then boarded the bus and fired at the driver before being taken down by police, the official said.

The suspect’s uncle, 70-year-old Rexhep Uka, said Uka was born and raised in Germany and was a devout Muslim who worked at the airport.

He said Uka’s grandfather was a religious leader at a mosque in the village of Zhabar, near Mitrovica, Kosovo.

Murat Uka, who identified himself as the alleged shooter’s father, says the only thing he knew about his son was that he hadn’t turned up at work on Wednesday.

The Frankfurt airport refused to comment on whether the suspect worked there.

The airport, continental Europe’s second biggest after Paris, is routinely used by American soldiers based in Germany for arrivals and departures.

ABC News reported that when the gunman opened fire, he shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ which is Arabic for ‘God is Great’.

From Bangkok Post, US airmen killed in Germany:

An attack Wednesday on a bus carrying US air force personnel about to fly home from Germany left two airmen dead and two seriously injured, local authorities and the US military said.

“Two airmen have been killed and two were wounded during a shooting incident today at Frankfurt International Airport,” the US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) said in a statement.

“The names of the deceased are being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin. German authorities have the shooter in custody. The incident is currently under investigation.”

Authorities in Germany said that the alleged gunman was a 21-year-old originally from Muslim-majority Kosovo in southeastern Europe who was living in Frankfurt. Police said it was so far unclear what his motives were.

One of the victims was killed inside the bus and one outside the vehicle, Boris Rhein, interior minister of the western German state of Hesse, told reporters at the scene.

He added that the alleged killer, who police said used a handgun and who reports said also had a knife, was seized by German police inside the Terminal Two building at the airport, one of Europe’s busiest.

“Everything happened on board the bus,” police spokesman Juergen Linker told AFP. “The suspected gunman has been arrested. There are two dead and two seriously injured.”

From The Local, Two Americans shot dead at Frankfurt Airport:

Police spokesman Jürgen Linker said the incident occurred at Terminal 2 on a bus used to transport US military personnel. The bus driver and one member of the US Air Force were reportedly killed.

“Two airmen have been killed and two were wounded during a shooting incident today at Frankfurt International Airport,” US Air Forces Europe said in a statement.

The victims had just flown in from Britain and were about to travel to Ramstein airbase near Frankfurt, German police said.

Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her condolences to the friends and families of the deceased. “This is a horrible event,” she told reporters in Berlin.

The shooting came a month after Germany’s authorities had announced that additional security measures imposed late last year in response to indications of an imminent “terrorist” attack were set to be gradually scaled back.

The US military has a number of major bases near Frankfurt, including Ramstein, which are used as hubs for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

From Maggie’s Notebook, Arif Uta or Arid Uka Jihadist: Muslim Kills Two American Solidiers Yelling Allahu Akbar:

A Kosavar Muslim, Arif Uta or Arid Uka or Arif Uka, wielding a handgun and a knife, yelled the all-too-familiar deadly jihadi prayer, “Allahu Akbar,” and shot one U.S. Airman as he smoked a cigarette outside of a bus marked U.S. Air Force. Another Airman was gunned down as he returned a luggage cart. The killer reportedly shot nine rounds before his gun jammed. Airmen on the bus took Uta or Uka down, and said he was shouting either “Jihad Jihad” or “Allahu Akbar.” The bus was carrying members of a Security Forces team assigned to RAF Lakenheath, 48th fighter Wing (F-15s) in the U.K, who were bound for Ramstein Airbase to support Overseas Contingency Operations somewhere , the exact destination has not been revealed. No surprise that Germany still isn’t sure this is an act of terror!

”back in the day” cassius clay, when challenged by the notable british bbc liberal talk show host micheal parkinson, about his statement that ”all white-men” are racist. because of course he said he wasn’t a racist whiteman.

pointed out that not all snakes are poisonus. but he could not tell the difference between the two sorts, and would avoid all snakes, and since he couldn’t he couldn’t tell the difference between whitemen, he would treat all whitemen as racists, untill they proved different.

there is no way of telling a so-called ‘good-moslem” from a murdering cowardly moslem who murders unarmed people. with guns and bombs and airplanes

so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, in my view and experience, a ‘good-moslem’ is an oxymoron, until he proves different.

how many moslems are in the presidential secret service bodyguard for example.
