No ‘Easter’ in Egg Hunts: Ohio Township Wants to Omit ‘Easter’ and Conduct ‘Spring Egg Hunt’ (video)

Ohio township wants 'Easter' taken out of its annual egg hunt

The attacks on Christianity haven’t gone away. In the name of political correctness, they’ve taken “Christ” out of Christmas for years… now taking “Easter” out of egg hunts and renaming the events “Spring Egg Hunts” is proposed in Ohio. An egg hunt that is, of course, part of Easter tradition. When else do children hunt for eggs, for goodness sake?

Yet another misguided politically correct effort to avoid offending… who, exactly?

Last year, union members in an Iowa town wanted Good Friday renamed “Spring Holiday.”

Good grief — will this nonsense never end?

From NBC 17 News, Ohio town is taking the ‘Easter’ out of its annual egg hunt:

MUNSON, Ohio — A Northeast Ohio community is taking the “Easter” out of the egg hunt.

As the White House prepares for its annual Easter Egg Roll — a tradition dating back to 1878 — some in the community of Munson Township are asking if it’s okay in Washington, how could the word “Easter” offend someone in this small rural community?

Still, township trustees are opting to call this year’s Easter weekend event “The Spring Egg Hunt.”

Dance choreographer Matt Martsolf works with kids every day and has a few of his own. His opinion about what to call this year’s egg hunt is shared with dance clients.

“Stop the headache. Just let the kids have their day,” Martsolf said.

“It’s traditionally been called an Easter egg hunt for years and years and people are little bit too touchy,” client Michelle Nelson said.

Munson homebuilder Enzo Perfetto is putting up the $600 to put the sponsorship in private hands and the Easter back in the egg hunt.

The decision to have the egg hunt privately sponsored is under review by the county prosecutor.

Perfetto said township trustees have already agreed to calling the event an Easter egg hunt as long as taxpayers aren’t footing the bill.

Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles — but that doesn’t stop the leftist PC crowd from sucking out any association to Christianity.

From The Powers That Be, Out: Easter Egg Hunt — In: Spring Egg Hunt:

These days people aren’t even necessarily waiting for complaints from anybody, but instead implementing pre-emptive PC…

Eventually somebody will realize how much cholesterol is in eggs, and the name will be changed to the “Spring Hunt for Nothing in Particular.” As a matter of fact, “hunt” might offend animal rights wackos — so I can see that word being removed too.
