Rep. Ben Quayle Roasts Press, Obama, Biden, Gingrich, Hoyer, & Others at Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner (video)

Politico is the “worst media outlet in history.” Ouch.
Rep. Ben Quayle’s speech/roast at Wednesday evening’s Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner, formerly called the Radio-Television Correspondents’ Dinner, didn’t hold back. Not a whole lotta laughs from the crowd (some guffaws and light applause on his Gingrich joke, just head-scratching on the Romney joke) — more groans than not, but I found him darkly funny in an awkward way.
Newly elected Quayle (R-AZ), son of the former Vice President, also made jokes about Obama, Weiner, Spitzer, Pawlenty, Cheney, Napolitano, Pelosi, and other politicians.
His quote of VP Joe Biden’s “big f**kin’ deal” was priceless and he made a sly reference to Biden’s staff shoving a reporter in a closet during a Florida fundraiser last week.
At the heart of Quayle’s speech, he emphasized his determination to push for smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and securing our nation’s borders. He thanked the press for the difficult job they do.
Not much of a comedian, but a satisfying speech from Quayle.
