The attacks against Palin and her family have escalated since this was written:

The Left has declared war on Palin because she threatens their existence. Liberals need women dependent and scared so that women, like blacks, will vote Democrat.
A strong, self-sufficient woman, Palin eschews liberal protection. Drop her off in the Alaskan bush and she’ll survive just fine, thank you very much. Palin doesn’t need or want anything from liberals — not hate crimes legislation that coddles her, and not abortion, which she abhors.
Palin is a woman of deep and abiding faith. She takes no marching orders from messiah-like wannabes like Obama.
And so the Left must try to destroy her. And they are doing this in the most malicious of ways: by symbolically raping her.
Just like a perpetuator, they dehumanize her by objectifying her body. They undress her with their eyes.
They turn her into a piece of ass.
Liberals do this by calling her a c__t, ogling her legs, demeaning her with names like “slutty flight attendant” and “Trailer Park Barbie,” and exposing her flesh on the cover of Newsweek.
Nothing is off-limits, not actress Sandra Bernhard’s wish that Palin be gang-raped or the sexualization of Palin’s daughters.
As every woman knows, leering looks, lurid words, and veiled threats are intended to evoke terror. Sexual violence is a form of terrorism.
The American Left has a long history of defiling people to control and break them. The hard core ’60s leftists were masters of guerrilla warfare, like the Symbionese Liberation Army repeatedly raping Patty Hearst. Huey P. Newton sent a male Black Panther to the hospital, bloodied and damaged from a punishment of sodomy.
The extreme Left still consider themselves warriors, righteous soldiers for their Marxist cause. With Palin, they use sexual violence as part of their military arsenal.
Palin is not the only intended victim. As Against Our Will described, the brutality is also aimed at men. By forcing men to witness Palin’s violation, the Left tries to emasculate conservative men and render them powerless.
The wilding of any woman is reprehensible. But defiling a mother of five with a babe in her arms, and a grandmother to boot, is particularly obscene. It is, of course, Palin’s unapologetic motherhood that fuels the leftist fire.
Because as a mother and a fertile woman, Palin is as close to the sacred as a person gets. She is not just politically pro-life. Her whole being emanates life, which is a stark contrast to the darkness of the Left, the life-despoilers.
These “progressives” are so alienated from the sacred that they perceive nothing as sacred. And they will destroy anyone whose goodness shines a mirror on their pathology. The spiritually barren must annihilate the vital and the fertile.

The left-wing media has done its best to smear her husband, Todd, as well — in January, he was falsely accused in the press of involvement in a prostitution ring, despite police saying otherwise.

Leftist loon talk show host Joy Behar called Palin “jock itch” this week (and has said hateful things about Trig Palin in the past), perpetually angry leftist degenerate Bill Maher has attacked her children in the past and called Palin a disgusting vulgarism in March on his show (he used a derogatory term for females that rhymes with “snot”), lecherous David Letterman joked in June 2009 about Palin’s then-14-year-old daughter Willow being raped, liberal journalist Maureen Dowd beats up on conservative women, including Palin, on a regular basis.
Left-wing loudmouth and 9/11 truther Rosie O’Donnell wants to slap Palin, ex-con Martha Stewart has publicly slammed her, Larry King and Sarah Silverman discussed in 2010 — on CNN, supposedly a non-partisan news source — that they thought Palin should pose for Playboy, and 99.99999% of Democrats falsely blamed her — without a shred of proof and a ton of evidence and testimonials laying to waste their fabricated claims — for the horrific Tucson shooting massacre in January. Death threats and demands from liberals wanting her raped or tortured or murdered have been issued against Palin by liberals on a non-stop basis.
Death threats were also aimed at her daughter Bristol when she was a competing dancer on the reality show Dancing with the Stars last year.
Daily Kos and left-wing journalist Gwen Ifill jumped on the “let’s mock Palin bandwagon” when she told tea partiers just before the November elections to “party like its 1773.” They thought she had stupidly referred to, uh, the 1776 American Revolution but had gotten the date wrong — they had no clue until later that the famous Boston Tea Party upon which the tea party movement pays homage occurred in… wait for it… 1773.
Oops.
No retraction, no apology — although, if I were a prominent journalist with PBS like Ifill and I had revealed my sorry-butt ignorance of American history or my inability to use Google to check a date just so that I could lamely laugh at Sarah Palin, I’d want to hide out from that amateurish gaffe for a while. And, if I were a leftist radical hatemonger like Markos Moulitasas at Daily Kos, I’d not worry an iota about getting any of my facts straight because any slam against Palin, true or not, aligns with the left’s marching orders to destroy the former Alaskan governor. Spoon-feeding lies to Daily Kos readers, not a bright bunch to begin with, is always justified if in the end, liberals can smear Sarah.

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters notes that the piece, “Why Sarah Palin Doesn’t Get What She Deserves”, by Meghan Daum, was written a day before Wonkette’s disgraceful attack on Trig Palin.
In “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” Rebecca Traister’s book about women and the 2008 election, Couric says, “During the course of the interview I made sure I was as nonjudgmental as possible, that I had no facial affect, that I didn’t even cock my head when I didn’t understand what she was saying.”
Even Traister, an unabashed liberal and feminist who writes for the left-leaning online magazine Salon, is evidence of the way thoughtful writers treat Palin as a special-needs case…If there was ever a candidate who brought out the worst in people, who encouraged hollow rejoinders but made honest analysis almost impossible, it is she.
Three cheers for Meghan Daum for so boldly and courageously “going there.” Yes, the MSM have been way too nice to this “special needs” snowbilly, who don’t know nuthin’ about nuthin’. And she proves it with every twitter typo, and ignorant utterance.

Like… when she called out the ObamaCare “death panels”, and she turned out to be right – it was just a lucky guess. When she called for a “no fly zone” in Libya, (back when it would have made a difference), she was just spit-balling – who could have guessed the Obama administration would finally adopt the idea –(too late). Liberal elites sneered at her when she criticized the Federal Reserve’s campaign of quantitative easing, saying it wouldn’t work. Guess what? It didn’t work.
Making up lies about Palin, like during her good-will trip to Haiti a few months ago, calling her a whore, a bitch, a slut, an idiot, white trash, and so many filthy misogynist names too profane to list, wishing her dead — it’s all part of a regular day in the world of liberal zealots. The left-wing’s rabid mission is to destroy this woman.

It’s the “new civility” of the Left. But it’s not new.
