Left-Wing Jumps the Shark: More Courageous Than Our Navy SEALs, All Hail Gutsy Obama!

H/t to I Hate The Media for this inspiring graphic:

Stunning über-leftwing spin from Wendy Chamberlin, former U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, in an excerpt from an interview with CNN anchor Randi Kaye… aaawkkk:

KAYE: But do you think it’s possible — do you think it’s possible that Pakistan was complicit here, and possibly hiding Bin Laden?

CHAMBERLIN: I think there’s certainly ample reasons for suspicion, and I think that President Obama made a very courageous decision in not advising Pakistan in advance before this raid. This raid could have gone wrong in a thousand different ways, which would have tanked his political career and legacy and history. But he made that decision to go without telling Pakistan and that took some real courage, as much courage as our Navy SEALs did in pulling off a near flawless operation.

Such courage! Such gutsiness!

More cowbell, more boot licking!

It took five months for Captain Gutsy-Courageous Obama to act on bin Laden. FIVE MONTHS.

That’s about the same amount of time he sorta-kinda-uh-not-really-who’s-fooling-who served as a US Illinois Senator — one who holds the record for voting “present” during his 143 days in active office — before his run for president. After those five months passed, and POTUS being involved in multiple secret meetings and communiqués, the secret mission had been rehearsed, the Navy SEALS were ready, the Geronimo mission was ready to go. But Obama stalled again, to the great surprise of those in a national security meeting. He disappeared out of the room.

He “needed to sleep on it” — yet another 16 hours were needed for him to decide on what to do about the most heinous murderer of infidels and Muslims in recent world history, a man responsible for the horrific murders of 2,998 innocent people in NYC, Arlington, and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001.

Nearly a full day later, he finally gave his approval. The only rational decision any sane president could make when faced with the stone-cold facts, the years of intel, the realities, the thousands slaughtered.

Barack Obama kept military commanders hanging by declaring he would ‘sleep on it’ before taking 16 hours to give the go-ahead to raid Bin Laden’s compound.

Hit squads of specialist Navy Seals – who were not even told who they were preparing to capture – had practised the mission at two reconstructions of the terror chiefs sprawling compound.

The mission looked set to be given the all clear last Thursday when analysts confirmed beyond doubt that Bin Laden was in busy town of Abbottabad in northern Pakistan.

Gutsy. Courageous.

Here are some highlights of his schedule during the days preceding bin Laden’s assassination — from the White House website:

  • On the Wednesday (April 27) before the SEALs’ take-down of Osama, POTUS made a strange announcement to the press about his birth certificate, then POTUS and FLOTUS flew to Chicago to be taped for an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show, after which they then flew to New York City for not one, not two, but three DNC fund-raising events for his re-election campaign — he’ll have another fund-raiser in NYC in just a few weeks. He had already attended three fundraisers in Chicago and one in Harlem that same week.
  • On the Thursday (April 28) before the SEALs’ take-down of Osama, POTUS announced changes to his security team, met with a group of “influential Hispanics from across the country on the importance of fixing our nation’s broken immigration system to meet our 21st century economic and national security needs so that America can win the future” and then met with Panamanian Pres. Ricardo Martinelli.
  • On the Friday (April 29) before the SEALs’ take-down of Osama, POTUS proclaimed a great many new days to be honored: he proclaimed the month of May to be Sports Month, Older Americans Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, National Foster Care Month, and Jewish American Heritage Month. May 1, 2011 was proclaimed as both Loyalty Day and Law Day, May 5 was proclaimed National Day of Prayer, and May 1 through May 7, 2011 was proclaimed National Charter School Week. POTUS also met with participants in the 1968 Memphis Sanitation Strike, the flew to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and stayed for just shy of 2 hours to meet with families and elected officials, survey the state’s storm damage, get in some photo ops, then flew to Cape Canaveral, Florida to watch the Endeavour space shuttle launch that was unexpectedly postponed. Later that night, he delivered a commencement address at Miami Dade College.
  • On the Saturday (April 30) before/the day of (depends on your time zone) the SEALs’ take-down of Osama, POTUS got in nine holes of golf (maybe only eight… read this stunning update) and later roasted Republicans and Americans who wanted to see his birth certificate while attending the annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner at the DC Hilton.

So, he’s been really really really busy, poor guy. Rather than “sleep on it,” it looks like he just needed to GET some sleep after spending so many hours jetting all over creation in Air Force One stumping for big bucks for his 2012 re-election campaign. Fighting terrorism just had to wait another day, no biggie.

After all, a billion dollars doesn’t raise itself, you silly military-loving, Constitution-loving geese.

Toby Harnden at the UK’s Telegraph reports… Former US ambassador to Pakistan: Barack Obama showed ‘as much courage as our Navy SEALs’:

Some have detected a touch of sycophancy and message coordination in all this, suspicions that might be increased by the fact that the newly-acquired domain name gutsycall.com will direct you to Barack Obama’s campaign website.

But the top prize for the most sycophancy towards Obama this week surely has to be awarded to Wendy Chamberlain, Middle East Institute president and former US ambassador to Pakistan, who had this to say on CNN:

But he made that decision to go without telling Pakistan and that took some real courage, as much courage as our Navy SEALs did in pulling off a near flawless operation.

Hmm. Think about that. Deciding not to tell the Pakistanis makes Obama as brave as one of the SEALs on the Geronimo mission? As brave as a man who rappels down a rope from a Black Hawk into a compound deep in Pakistan at the dead of night knowing that it is the hideout of a mass murderer who happens to be the world’s most wanted terrorist?

Obama’s fan club has jumped the shark… what would Fonzie say?

From I Hate the Media, Obama the Warrior showed “as much courage as our Navy SEALs”:

The media has moved into full Obama hype and hyperbole. America’s most effeminate Commander In Chief is now being touted as a cross between General Patton and Chuck Norris.

Of course, we have to depend on a foreign newspaper like the Telegraph UK to point out the latest ludicrous comment…

Hot Air weighs in… Wendy Chamberlain – Obama was just as courageous as the SEALs:

One thing about the Dems when they want to try to sell something they are very good at syncing the talking points.

In an attempt to make the Jr. Chipmunk sitting in the small chair in the so-called “iconic” photo seem more than he is, we have our word of the day as spread by the usual suspects. Toby Harnden caught the attempt. First John Brennan (wow, should that guy be somewhere else saying “would you like fries with that”, or what?) in the White House briefing room:

When President Obama was faced with the opportunity to act upon this, the president had to evaluate the strength of that information and then made what I believe was one of the most gutsiest calls of any president in recent memory.

Yup. Definitely more gutsy than ordering the surge in Iraq in the face of a political firestorm. Gutsy.

Then the French looking guy who I believe claims to have served in Viet Nam, John Kerry, was next up:

This was a gutsy decision by the president. A lot of things could have gone wrong.

No kidding – that chair could have turned over and dumped him in the floor. Gutsy.

[...]

Yessiree Bob – not telling Pakistan was just as gutsy as flying into a foreign land, at night, nap of the earth, hoping no one sees your helicopter and blows it out of the sky. Then fast roping into a compound of hostiles, number unknown, engaging in a firefight and clearing it. Then exfiltrating. Yup, not telling Pakistan is just like that.

You’re right, Chamberlain forgot to use the buzz word of the day, but let’s be honest. she was going for a 3-point shot from half-court here and “gutsy” just wasn’t enough. Tying Obama’s decision to the courage of the SEALs?

Gutsy.

From Dr. Phil Taverna, Canadian Free Press, Osama, Usama is this just the beginning of the end? But what about the Youths?:

In a matter of minutes probably seconds Osama was tried and sentenced to death twice. If the first bullet didn’t quite do it, the second one was the coup de grace. Could you imagine if President Bush had executed the diplomatic leader of the terrorists? He would be tried for war crimes. At the very least if Osama was unarmed, wasn’t Holder required to be there to read him his rights! What happened to the Geneva Convention? That doesn’t apply if there is no torture. Can anyone imagine that the liberals actually believe this stuff, or is their only purpose to make the other side look bad so they can win political office and spread their wonderful socialism all around the world.

And this is all good. But Obama failed again. Immediately the pundits came out and started making these stupid statements like we have to fear reprisals so we better not piss them off! Are they nuts! We just executed their leader. If that doesn’t piss them off, nothing will. The terrorists already had plans to kill innocent people on your trains!

So if Obama could only grow a pair, now is the time to be like President Bush and explain to them what exactly the Bush Doctrine means. “If you harbor or assist terrorists we are coming to get you. You will be held accountable”. Then Like President Bush, Obama should have displayed the pictures of all the top thugs. And then say something with dignity for a change: “Make no mistake, Osama never heard us coming. He now sleeps with the fishes. If anyone else wants to challenge the American power and determination to protect our citizens, then make my day. You will not hear us coming either. But you will know if you are terrorists planning to hurt Americans or our allies, you will be next”.

And Obama should publicly confess that it was enhanced interrogation that helped to bring down Osama. He should also say: “As we reflect on waterboarding, it is not torture and we will continue to use enhanced interrogation techniques to win the war on terrorism. Let me be clear, we will not wait. If you plan then we will find out through increased spending on intelligence. We will win this war and the terrorists will lose.

And by the way, all the CIA agents and anyone else for that matter who helped to make EIT so successful we thank you and all criminal investigations will cease to exist”.

In closing the double messages that are being sent to our youths need to stop. Every time the liberals knock our country it weakens our citizens and our patriotism and it strengthens our enemies. All of this is done for political reasons. For the sake of American youths and for the whole of America we need patriots and not wimpy complainers!

From DPGI:

This is one of the stupidest, most overblown, hyperbolic, bull-crappiest things I have ever read. I hope Ms. Chamberlain didn’t get tangled in her kneepads.

So if fearless leader makes a mistake, he messes up his political career. If a Navy Seal makes a mistake, he’s dead. Not quite the same level of courage here.
