It was just last year that NASA climate gurus had eggy goop on their faces when it was revealed that in order to make their numbers support global warming claims, the AGW data had to be “tinkered” with. They admitted that their data for global warming/climate change was garbage and unreliable.
STUNNING.
Well, they’ve done it again with fudging of the numbers at the University of Colorado’s NASA-funded Sea Level Research Group. And they’ve been caught — again.

One of the big threats from the global warming moonbat types is that a rise in temperature will melt the polar ice caps causing the oceans to rise, with the cataclysmic result of skyscrapers being under water. Let’s face it, if you think that the commute into Manhattan is bad now….just wait.
There is only one problem with this scenario, Mother Nature isn’t being cooperative. You see it is true that sea level has risen during the 20th century and probably well before that. Scientists estimate that sea level has increased by 7 inches during the 20th century.
The climate change hoaxers use computer models to predict that sea levels would rise anywhere from 15 inches to 20 feet because of global warming in the 21st century (the consensus number is closer to 3 feet).
But Mother Nature was never good at computer science. Satellite data proved that the first decade of the 21st century sea level grew by only 0.83 inches (a pace of just 8 inches for the entire century). What’s even worse (for the global warming hoaxers) there has been no rise since 2006. Now I know that some Democrats believe that Obama is a miracle worker, but even the the crazies at the Daily Kos would admit that controlling sea level is way above his pay grade. So the scientists at the University of Colorado’s NASA-funded Sea Level Research Group did what any other self-respecting cult members would do, they fudged the numbers. They simply added .3 millimeters per year to its Global Mean Sea Level Time Series. That way they could report that the sea level rise was accelerating, instead of what was actually happening –- decelerating.
The University of Colorado Sea Level Research Group is coming to their rescue. The NASA-funded group claims glacial melt is removing weight that had been pressing down on land masses, which in turn is causing land mass to rise. This welcome news mitigates sea-level rise from melting glacial ice, meaning sea level will rise less than previously thought. However, it is very inconvenient for alarmist sea level predictions. Therefore, instead of reporting the amount by which sea level is rising in the real world, the Sea Level Research Group has begun adding 0.3 millimeters per year of fictitious sea level rise to “compensate” for rising land mass.
The extra 0.3 millimeters of fictitious sea level rise will add up to 1.2 inches over the course of the 21st century. While this is not monumental in and of itself, it will allow alarmists to paint a dramatically different picture of sea level rise than is occurring in the real world. For example, the current pace of 8 inches of sea level rise for the present century is essentially no different than the 7 inches of sea level rise that occurred last century. However, with an artificially enhanced 9.2 inches of sea level rise, alarmists can claim sea level is rising 31 percent faster than it did last century.
This isn’t the first time NASA climate-change scientists have fudged data. James Hansen is famous for it.
James Hansen of NASA is not just any global warming Moonbat, he is Al Gore’s global warming Moonbat. It was Hansen’s data that was used in Gore’s Oscar/Peace prize winning film. Hansen’s work is ruled by one motto: “If God gives you rotten apples, tell everyone it’s champagne.”

And what do you do when dire predictions of rising sea levels fails to materialize? Easy, you claim glacier melt is causing land masses to rise.

Mike Hulme, a prominent climate scientist and IPCC insider, stated last June that the IPCC misled the press and public into believing that thousands of scientists backed its claims on manmade global warming, that the “consensus” was phoney.
Record cold during South America’s winter last July killed an unprecedented number of cattle and people. It was the coldest it had been there in three decades.
Record cold this past winter in Florida killed off an alarming number of manatees. Polar bears have flourished, however, despite what Al Gore, Greenpeace, IPCC, and the Democrat Party would have us believe about their imminent AGW demise.
The newest straw-grabbing this week, since those darned polar bears weren’t cooperative (and tests were even conducted in 2008 to find out if all the presumed melting Arctic ice from global warming would make polar bears go deaf), is to claim that AGW will negatively impact the Internet. Good grief… this is right up there with the ridiculous claim that AGW will force prostitution to explode.

Record cold and snowfall was reported for months across the globe this past winter — in some regions, records from more than 100 years were broken for the month of January. Records set during the previous year were also broken.

Liberal politicians and the media have tried to claim that a lack of snow in previous years somehow “proved” the existence of AGW — record snow and cold, however, also proves it. Or doesn’t. Or something like that.
As Ed Morrisey at Hot Air pointed out, “Too much snow, too little snow, snow that doesn’t form pretty crystals, and bent snow shovels all would meet the climate models — mainly because the climate models are so unreliable that pretty much any kind of weather can be claimed as evidence.”

Watts Up With That? exposed another IPCC deceit, that of “AfricaGate”: IPCC’s “Africagate” blunder as told by Dr. Richard North. The liberal media looked the other way.
It was reported that the IPCC head climate chief, Rajendra Pachauri, knew about bogus glacier and rain forest data before the 2010 Copenhagen summit, but chose to keep quiet about it. Until his deceit was exposed. And the liberal media looked the other way again.
None of this will be reported on MSNBC or the other liberal news stations or the liberal press. Because the truth about global warming isn’t the issue — the money that can be made from imposing taxes, fines, penalties, and stringent government regulations is the heartbeat of the AGW/climate change/go green myth. The truth is not.
Seasonal changes on Earth from one year to another, one century to another, are predictable in their unpredictability. They have been for millions of years — ice ages, harsh inclement weather, droughts, storms, species dying out, polar shifts — have occurred since the dawn of time. And none of them have ever been proven with any degree of reliability to be the result of “manmade global warming” — the most elaborate hoax of the past century.
And that is why data manipulating and cherry-picking by a few unscrupulous people at NASA and other junk-science agencies is so important to keep the AGW hoax alive and kicking. Because without that deceit to support the global warmists’ agenda, Mother Nature is out of the control of mere mortals. As she has always been.
And you can’t tax Mother Nature.
