Mark Levin Is Fired Up, Magnificent: Statism’s Threats, Americans Shouldn’t Embrace & Encourage Our Own Demise, Must Stand Up to Soft Tyranny, Obama’s Destructive Agenda (video)

Conservative talk radio host, constitutional expert and lawyer, former Reagan administration aide, and bestselling author Mark Levin was magnificent yesterday — he has been on fire — figuratively, of course — too many times in the past to count, and this stunning, no-holds-barred commentary is no exception.

If you missed yesterday’s awesome show, no worries, patriots. A YouTube audio/video of the radio show is below. FYI: Levin also offers, free of charge on his website at MarkLevinShow.com, mp3 audio files of the previous three weeks of radio shows. Thus, you can download his radio shows (most commercial breaks are removed, so instead of three hours, the audio files run just short of two hours, at about 25 megabytes each) and listen to them at your leisure.

“The Great One” spoke plainly and passionately, as he does consistently, on the current congressional talks, about the debt ceiling, about soft tyranny and the cost of ObamaCare, about escalating tax and regulatory policies, about spendthrift Democrats and Republicans decimating our nation, passing crushing debt on to our children and grandchildren.

He illustrated, with no candy coating, the escalating misery in this country, Barack “Don’t Call My Bluff” Obama’s dogged fixation to raise Americans’ taxes and punish business achievers in the public sector, and the ongoing, deliberate crippling and potential collapse of the American economy and our society. Levin criticized the “McConnell Plan” (as have other conservatives like Sen. Jim DeMint). He wants the Republican party to stand strong on conservative principles and fiscal responsibility by cutting out-of-control government spending and not giving in to Democrats on raising the debt ceiling. He wants to know where is the budget plan of Barack Obama’s.

He cites Gov. Scott Walker’s recent courage as one example of a conservative who “stood up to the forces of tyranny,” who didn’t crumble and who stood up to ugly name-calling and death threats, stood up to spendthrift Democrats, vicious leftwing protesters and thugs, liberal media attacks, and the fat-cat “give me mo’ money” unions. Gov. Walker stood strong and did what was necessary to make some painful cuts to the state’s budget so as to save Wisconsin from imminent financial catastrophe.

Congress must do the same.

I’ve typed up this short, but powerful portion of Levin’s spot-on, chilling commentary on this administration and the dire plight of our nation — we still have plenty of work to do, brothers and sisters, to reverse course and save the fundamental greatness of America, if it isn’t already too late.

Levin is amazing:

This current depression, which grew out of a recession, could have been prevented. We could have had economic growth and high employment and business expansion and a sound dollar and limited debt. But Obama sees himself as a historic force for conquering the American system from within.

Because he sees himself as correcting past injustices through the redistribution of wealth. Because he seeks to use the presidency not to comply with the Constitution, but to eviscerate it.

We are now living in a nation where misery is spreading, the future is bleak, and the Constitution is increasingly meaningless.

Not because of the American people. Not because of our history. Not because of our rules and our laws, but because of these men and women who are doing this to us.

I’ve said for years — today we live in a soft tyranny, that’s what it is. I’ve said for years that the statists have as their goal to increase the power of the government and diminish the rights of the individual, and that is what they are doing. And I am thrilled that the word “statist,” which I did not invent, which goes back to the classical philosophers, has been and now is being used as broadly as it should be. Because by “statist,” as I explained in Liberty and Tyranny, what I meant then, and what I hope that people who repeat it mean, is these are “people of the state, for the state, and by the state,” not “people of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

And they do what they do with lies and propaganda, distortions and dishonesty. That is who they are. That is how they behave. And that is what works with too many of our fellow citizens, I’m sad to say.

[...]

The whole point of using the debt ceiling as leverage was to save this society, to save our financial system. To give in, I assume, means the opposite, to allow it to collapse, but on Obama’s terms and the Democrats’ terms.

I see these credit rating bureaus coming out, who have lost all credibility given what took place with the Community Reinvestment Act and the collapse of the housing market, and the abuse of the banks, with phony demands and claims of redlining. The sames ones — Moody’s and the S&P. Where were they? Well, they were nowhere. Well, where are they now? One of them is demanding that we get rid of the entire notion of a debt ceiling. So I guess they believe that the Weimar Republic, the predecessor for the Third Reich, is the way to go. I don’t care if it is a credit organization or not — that’s mindless, that’s idiotic…

The problem is really quite simple. The President of the United States and the once-great Democrat party, now populated at its leadership level by 1960s retreads and throwbacks, what they are doing to this society has nothing to do with creating jobs, and everything to do with destroying us from within. Do you realize Obama and the Democrats have done more damage, more damage in terms of job losses, business losses, devalue of the dollar, than anything else? Anything else?

Levin’s concluding statement to conservative members of Congress: “Now is not a time for deals. Now’s the time for courage.”

Amen to that, Mark.

Mark Levin: We Should Not Embrace and Encourage Our Own Demise | Aired July 18, 2011

Federal Budget Surplus/Deficit: Pres. Obama tripled the deficit his first year in office with the failed Obama-Pelosi stimulus plan. In Obama’s second year the deficit topped a trillion dollars again. It was unprecedented in all of American history.

And what part of Levin’s defintion of a “statist” doesn’t fit Gov. Walker and his crony politics? He is basically relinquishing all voter’s rights and completely subjugating the public to the will and pwer of the state. Walker is a communist.

You’re amusing. Smaller, less intrusive government is NOT on the statist’s agenda. Lower taxes are NOT on the statist’s agenda. A balanced, sustainable budget is NOT on the statist’s agenda. Pruning or eliminating government entitlements is NOT on the statist’s agenda. Tax cuts and fiscal responsibility are NOT on the statist’s agenda. The statist wants the government to be everything for the people, for the people to not have their inherent freedoms of choice, for them to depend on and be controlled by the government and its non-ending mandates for their very lives. Walker does not.

Your claim that he is “relinquishing all voter’s rights” and “subjugating the public to the will and pwer” (should be “power”) “of the state” is bogus and without any merit. He ran on the conservative platform that he is implementing. A majority of Wisconsin citizens are on board with smaller government, less influence by the unions, and sustainable, responsible spending by the government. Walker is doing what he said he would do, and a majority of voters elected him.

Walker won, your guy lost. And his budget cuts were recently heralded as having saved at least one Wisconsin school district and hundreds of teacher jobs. Something that would not have happened if he hadn’t taken action.
