Delicious Retro Chic: She & Him to Release Christmas Album (video)

She & Him

The economy may be in the crapper, stocks may be plunging, but at least we have She & Him to dull some of the pain.

Quirky California retro, sparkling-bright, She & Him is one of indie pop’s most adorable, uplifting collaborations. All the duo’s songs, with their beautiful throwback qualities, are written and sung by talented actress Zooey Deschanel (She) and produced by M. Ward (Him), who also co-writes and plays guitar. Evidence that stand-out, feel-good music doesn’t need half-naked singers, trashy sexual messages, or profane language as a crutch to attract an appreciative audience.

Retro chic at its very best. Even She & Him’s official website is designed with 1970′s yellows and browns.

And here’s the best news, reported by Paste Magazine:

There’s only one thing cuter than She & Him, and that’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward decked out in holiday attire, belting out carols. World, prepare yourselves, the king and queen of cute-core have announced that they are working on a holiday album.

Even infamous, foul-mouthed celeb basher Perez Hilton is jazzed about the upcoming Christmas album — imagine that.

A few of She & Him’s music videos and TV performances — enjoy.
