What does a prince get for his ailing, 94-year-old former beauty queen wife as a gift for their 25th wedding anniversary?
A billboard, of course.
As frivolous and expensive as this is, I think it’s kinda cute, in an old Hollywood/money to burn kind of way. Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is bedridden and had her leg amputated in January because of gangrene, liked it, too.
And that’s all that matters. Hang in there, Zsa Zsa!
Von Anhalt is Husband Number 9 for Zsa Zsa — who’d have thought these crazy kids would stay together for 25 years with that kind of marriage track record?

Frederick von Anhalt wants the world – or at least anyone driving on Sunset Boulevard – to know that he and Zsa Zsa Gabor will soon be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
He has taken out a billboard announcing the news: “Prince Frederic & Princess Zsa Zsa 25 years and counting.” Gabor, 94, and Von Anhalt, 67, wed on Aug. 14, 1986.
It’s a gift for his ailing wife and he said yesterday that she smiled when she saw a picture of it on TV. “She said, ‘Oscar de la Renta,’” Von Anhalt told AP on Thursday, adding that she is wearing a dress by the designer in the photo on the billboard. “It was her favorite dress, and she looked at it and she remembered it.”
Von Anhalt said he spent his “life savings” on the $68,000 billboard, which will be up for one month.

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband has spent $68,000 on a billboard wishing her a happy anniversary.
The 94-year-old actress – who is bedridden following a string of health problems – was delighted by Prince Frederic Von Anhalt’s gesture, which saw him take out a huge poster board on Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard, with the advertisement featuring a picture of the couple on their wedding day from August 14 1986 and a caption reading: “Prince Frederic & Princess Zsa Zsa 25 years and counting.”
Explaining Zsa Zsa’s reaction, Frederic said: “She said, ‘Oscar de la Renta.’ It was her favorite dress, and she looked at it and she remembered it.”
To mark their anniversary next month, Frederic is planning to throw a party, despite the fact his wife is bedridden.
He told The Huffington Post: “She is better today than she was two months ago.
“I’ve invited a few people, a few of our old friends – some of them are still alive – I’m going to get them up to the house.
“Hopefully Mrs. Reagan is going to come, and a couple of the young stars too.
“Zsa Zsa will be in the bedroom, and our closest friends can then go to her in the bedroom and say hi to her. Singularly, so there will be no mess.”

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt has spent $68,000 (£41,761) on a billboard honoring the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary.
The billboard, which is located on LA’s Sunset Boulevard, features von Anhalt and Gabor’s wedding picture as well as the caption: “Prince Frederic & Princess Zsa Zsa 25 years and counting.”
Von Anhalt told The AP: “The billboard was very expensive. I just put my life savings in it. I said forget about tomorrow. I want to do it today. I want to do it for her.”
He added: “Being married to Zsa Zsa these 25 years, it’s priceless. What she gave to me, the things we did together, the happy life we had together, you can’t pay for it with money. It was perfect. It was just perfect and we’re going to go on.”
The couple’s billboard, which also features von Anhalt’s website address, will be displayed in LA for the next month.
Relative info: Zsa Zsa is the ex-step-great-grandmother of Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton (she was married to Husband Number 2, millionaire hotelier Conrad Hilton, for five years in the 1940s and had one child with him). She was also inducted into the B-Movie Hall of Fame in 2004 — which, based on her recent film choices, could also be Paris’s film destiny.
