Recent statistics of unemployment and the growing number of jobs lost in Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois are sobering. No wonder Pres. Barack Obama wanted to glad-hand these swing states as part of his “unofficial” re-election campaign last week. Photo ops galore… pet a few cows, sit in front of a few barns, mingle with cute kids. All on the taxpayers’ dime, with a beefy entourage and two gargantuan buses that get an approximate average of 6 miles to the gallon each.

The RNC video below provides these stats, based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

Minnesota: 19,000 mnufacturing and 19,000 construction jobs have been lost since stimulus bill was enacted.

Iowa: 11,000 manufacturing and 6,000 jobs lost since Barack Obama took office.

Illinois: 125,000 jobs lost and 9.2 percent unemployment since Obama took office.

While Obama’s Magical Misery Tour has ended, the misery has not.

California and Nevada are in far worse condition than the Midwest, with the greatest unemployment in the nation. Per the LA Times, California’s jobless rate last month went up to 12%, from 11.8%. California now has the second-highest rate of unemployment in the nation. The state trails only Nevada, which is at 12.9%, and its jobless rate is well above the U.S. average of 9.1%.

It wouldn’t be too much of a gamble to anticipate another costly Obamabus tour, in the president’s new million-dollar, tricked out, made-in-Canada rock star Darth Vader bus, chugging through those states in the coming months. Watch that POTUS carbon footprint grow.

Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus made these remarks last week about Obama’s constant campaigning and his controversial bus tour:

“He can’t help himself,” said Priebus, after calling the President the “Campaigner in Chief.”

He also noted Obama’s proclivity to remind voters he inherited a bad economy from his predecessor, President George W. Bush.

“One thing this President did inherit,” said Priebus, “is a AAA credit rating.”

WH press coverage from earlier this month… White House Press Sec. Carney denied that the Magical Misery Tour was a re-election campaign, and got testy: “Negative, it is an official event.”

The misery continues… and Obama is now vacationing for 10 days with the First Family at a $20 million estate at Blue Heron Farm at Martha’s Vineyard.
