Illegal Immigration SNAFU: Obama’s Uncle Omar & His Social Security Number, White House Has “No Comment” (video)

Barack Obama's half-uncle (he goes by either Onyango or Omar) was arrested last week on DUI charges - he is also in the country illegally, but has a Social Security number and driver's license. He also was to be deported back to Kenya years ago, but never left the country.
So many questions about Onyango Obama, so few answers coming forward from the White House.
How did Barack Obama’s uncle (actually, his “half” uncle) receive a Social Security number when he was here illegally from Kenya? How did he manage to stay in the country after already having been mandated to be deported?
As I wrote yesterday, Uncle Onyango — aka Uncle Omar — was arrested in Massachusetts last week on drunk driving charges when the bogus Social Security number and his valid driver’s license (which should also only be available to those in the country legally) were discovered. He was leaving the Chicken Bone saloon in an intoxicated state and nearly hit a police car. Onyango/Omar had been mandated to be deported years ago, but never left. What’s up with that, pray tell? Do they not do any follow-ups on illegal immigrants being deported?
Onyango/Omar has also had several run-ins with the law when he sold liquor to minors.
The in-the-sack-with-POTUS liberal media isn’t piping up on these facts and outstanding questions much at all. Those in the White House — Team Obama’s “most transparent administration ever” — say they have “no comment.”

Boston radio talk show host Howie Carr brought up on his Monday’s show that Onyango Obama, President Obama’s long lost half uncle (“Uncle Omar”) who was arrested by Framingham, Massachusetts police last week, charged with DUI, and found to have a warrant out on him by immigration authorities at ICE, has a valid social security number and a Massachusetts driver’s license.
Mr. Carr contacted the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles and asked a spokesman at the state motor vehicle agency how someone in Onyago Obama’s circumstances could get a driver’s license. He later told his audience what he discovered:(emphasis is mine)
“According to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles he has a valid driver’s license and you can’t get a valid driver’s license, supposedly, unless you have a social security number. And I asked them (RMV), ‘Well how the hell did he get a license if he never had a social security number? Maybe I’m just a little mister naive.’ But they said that they couldn’t tell me because he had the license for at least 20 years, so he had gotten it back in their pre-computer days.”
In President Obama’s 1995 memoir “Dreams from My Father” he writes that he learned in 1988 through family members in Kenya that his Uncle Omar came to the United States 25 years prior. A number of commentators are mentioning that President Obama’s uncle may have benefited from a policy that goes back to the days of former Massachusetts Democratic Governor Michael Dukakis, when illegal immigrants were assigned identification numbers that looked similar to social security numbers.

Today it was confirmed that Onyango Obama has had a Social Security number for 19 years.

President Obama’s accused drunken-driving uncle — who was busted after a near collision with a Framingham cop — has had a valid Social Security number for at least 19 years, despite being an illegal immigrant ordered to be deported back to Kenya, the Herald has learned.
The president’s 67-year-old uncle, Obama Onyango, has had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and Social Security number since at least 1992, said Registry of Motor Vehicles spokesman Michael Verseckes.
Janet Napolitano, head of Obama’s Department of Homeland Security, is pleading ignorance — not unexpected. Either she’s dumber than a bag of hammers or is keeping her mouth shut as Team Obama tries to resolve this mess and as new deportation laws are put into place. Reported by Daily Caller:
President Barack Obama’s Kenyan uncle was arrested for drunk driving and remains in custody without bail on an immigration detainer. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, however, declined to comment this morning on whether the president’s uncle will be released because of her cabinet department’s new enforcement guidelines.
Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, is the half-brother of the president’s late father. ”His immigration status couldn’t immediately be confirmed, but such orders [immigration detainers] are generally reserved for people living in the country illegally,” according to the Associated Press.
“I know that his uncle has been picked up, but I don’t know the facts of the case,” Napolitano said at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. “I can’t comment on the specific case … I don’t really know about it.”
In the last two months, officials at the Department of Homeland Security have effectively stopped deporting illegal immigrants unless the border-violators have also broken additional laws.
Border security officials are now developing a list of criminal offenses that would be deemed too minor to trigger deportation proceedings against illegal immigrants, explained Napolitano.

Illegal immigrants have already violated the border law, and minor offenses can be a sign of criminal intentions, say these advocates. For example, according to Mark Krikorian, the center’s executive director, three illegal immigrants from Albania were among six immigrant Islamists who prepared an attack on Fort Dix in 2007. The plotters were stopped by traffic police 75 times in the years before their arrests, but were never deported, he said.
“What will DHS’s explanation be when one of the illegal aliens reported to it by police — but whom DHS ordered released [under the new guidelines] — goes on to commit a major crime or terrorist act, as is virtually certain to happen at some point?” Krikorian asked.
“Omar should be deported, like any other illegal alien with an outstanding deportation order,” Krikorian told The DC.

Does anyone else find it a bit too fortuitous that merely six days before Uncle Obama’s arrest, Nephew Obama halted all deportation proceedings for illegals in the U.S.?
Hmmmm… It’s almost as if Nephew Obama somehow knew beforehand, or something. Or…he sent in his “plumbers” and had the reporting dates changed and the arraignment hearing postponed…

Mike Rogers, a spokesman for Cleveland immigration attorney Margaret Wong, who is representing Onyango, said he “wouldn’t know how” Onyango obtained a Social Security number. Wong is the same lawyer who represented the president’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, in her fight to win asylum last year. Reached at her apartment in a South Boston public housing complex yesterday, Zeituni Onyango said of her brother’s arrest: “Why don’t you go to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C., and ask your president? Not me.” She then hung up on a reporter.
The bust came just days after another illegal immigrant was charged with running down and killing a 23-year-old man in Milford.
Asked about the issue yesterday, Gov. Deval Patrick said: “You know my stance: Illegal is illegal. We need comprehensive immigration reform.”
