Caption Clueless: Close-up of UN group photo with Pres. Barack Obama waving and blocking the face of the president of Mongolia
The late, great American humorist Will Rogers once said, “The American people are a very generous people and will forgive almost any weakness, with the possible exception of stupidity.”
It isn’t easy being Barack Obama these days. The coolness and likeability factors he had going for himself back in 2008 that helped usher him into the presidency by uninformed, dewy-eyed voters have just about evaporated.
This week, Obama looked like an addle-headed hick in the embarrassing United Nations group photo, he went on his ridiculous Magical Misery Bus/Please Reelect Me campaign tour in a million-dollar Canadian-made bus this summer, scandals of cronyism and ineptitude are growing, the prosperity of America is becoming a faint memory, unemployment has not improved, his $450 billion jobs bill is a pathetic joke, he’s losing his base of minority voters, and his childish blame-game tactics have grown tiresome even among the staunchest of Democrats. Even with the undying loyalty and help of the liberal press painting him as Captain Cool.
The “President of Cool” is no longer.
Bloom’s off the rose… liberals can forgive much from the White House’s Current Occupant, but record unemployment, record national debt, record job losses, record stupidity, and record petulance aren’t easily forgiven nor forgotten.
Even his former likeability is an issue — his “snitch on your friends” AttackWatch website certainly hasn’t helped.
Reported by Politico, Poll: More blame President Obama for economy:
For the first time since President Barack Obama took office, a majority of Americans believe he deserves at least some blame for the country’s economic troubles, a new poll Wednesday shows.
According to the USA Today/Gallup survey, 24 percent of Americans say Obama deserves “a great deal of blame” for the state of the economy – a 10 point jump since 2009. A majority of Americans, including six out of 10 independents, think the president deserves “a great deal or moderate” amount of blame.
The poll also finds the public’s pessimism about the economy is growing deeper – 8 out of 10 say the the country is in a recession, and a similar number of people think it hasn’t improved in the last year.

From Pundit & Pundette, Polls: Obama liked less, blamed more:
One thing President Obama has held onto throughout his long descent in the polls is his likability. News stories always took pains to point out that, though Americans believed he was performing abysmally on the economy, etc., they still, for unfathomable reasons, found him personally appealing.
Now, according to this Washington Post-ABC News poll, the president’s mysterious charms have worn thin. Back in April, when asked whether they had favorable or unfavorable impressions of Obama, 33% of those polled had strongly favorable feelings and 32% had strongly unfavorable feelings. Now, to borrow a phrase from Mr. Eloquent, a “whole buncha folks” like him a whole bunch less: 22% strongly favorable, 31% strongly unfavorable.
Maybe they’ve gotten tired of his angry, hectoring demeanor.
This report came out in July.
