Finally Some Truth: Occupy Oakland Protester Admits Bottles Were Thrown at Police BEFORE Police Responded (video)

Riots, violence, & vandalism last night at Occupy Oakland in California, police were injured, dozens were arrested - Nov. 2, 2011

Prayers and admiration go to the police officers at the Occupy Oakland riots.

A thankless, dangerous job… these officers have attempted, under extremely difficult circumstances, to keep law and order during all the violent chaos and vandalism that has ensued there from the protestors.

Accusations of police brutality against leftist protestor Scott Olsen from last week are being discredited.

And of course, there’s the escalating cost to the economically destitute city and its taxpayers/citizens… this SFGate report doesn’t include all the vandalism from last night’s riots:

Oakland’s police union has estimated that last week’s sweep of the Occupy Oakland encampment – which re-established itself within days – cost taxpayers more than $1 million.

But Oakland officials say they do not know how much the city spent to take down 150 Occupy tents at Frank Ogawa Plaza on Oct. 25, clean up the place and then block campers from returning that evening.

With the camp back in full swing, the financially strapped city continues spending resources and funds on Occupy, and Wednesday’s massive demonstration will cost the city in public safety overtime, cleanup, lost productivity of city workers and possibly lost sales tax revenue.

Every city department has been involved with Occupy in one way or another, according to city spokeswoman Karen Boyd. Homeless-outreach workers have checked on the camp, firefighters have looked for hazards, the finance department is handling various purchases, and the IT department set up an emergency operations center and also dealt with Web threats to the city website. Everyone in the mayor’s office is involved.

Following the Oct. 25 police raid, about 20 public works employees spent the day cleaning up the plaza at a cost of roughly $4,000. Public works staff said replacing the Frank Ogawa Plaza lawn alone will cost $30,000.

Reminder: Pres. Barack Obama and Democrat members of Congress, among them Nancy Pelosi, have applauded and supported the Occupy Wall Street/Occupy Whatever protests. Not only are these violent demonstrations White House-endorsed, but they are also Communist Party-endorsed, American Nazi Party-endorsed, KKK-endorsed, labor union-endorsed, and Muslim leader-endorsed.
