Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum told Sean Hannity today that Israel cannot trust Pres. Barack Obama

At the beginning of this radio interview broadcast today, conservative talk show host Sean Hannity and presidential candidate Sen. Rick Santorum discussed the huge time allotment disparity CBS granted in the GOP presidential debates. While Santorum was not granted much time over the weekend, he fared better time-wise than did Ron Paul, who was only allowed a shameful 89 seconds out of a 90-minute debate. Makes me feel a bit better about not having watched the last few televised debates. A number of sources, including Mediaite, gave Santorum high marks for his debate performance.

Hannity and Santorum’s discussion about Obama and Israel begins at about the 4:57 mark.

During that discussion, Santorum said, “The Israelis can’t rely on the United States anymore under Pres. Obama for their own security,” and he has observed that, “The president seems to be annoyed with having to deal with foreign policy.” Santorum made astute observations that everything Obama focuses on as president is about winning his reelection and growing the socialist state. All his decisions on national security issues are centered on his domestic policy and are politically driven for his own personal success, with little regard to long-term impact.

They discussed the snubs and insults that Obama has subjected Israel and PM Netanyahu to — Santorum surmises in the interview that since Obama doesn’t like dealing with foreign issues, he views Netanyahu as a “pain.” Hannity played Obama’s response after his embarrassing “open mic” criticism of Netanyahu while in France. Naturally, Obama put a ridiculous political spin on his insults of the prime minister.

They also covered Iran’s nuclear bomb capabilities and how Israel is surrounded by hostile nations. America needs to get involved to prevent our ally Israel from being attacked.

Good interview — Santorum came across strong, intelligent, and extremely capable. From this interview, I have a better understanding of what Santorum could bring to our nation.
