Bye, bye, Barney

We’ll get a press conference later today on this stunning, although delightful, news that bombastic, ultra-liberal corruptocrat, Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Barney Frank won’t be running for reelection next year.

Tea party jitters? Redistricting jitters? Failed financial reform bill jitters?

Bye, bye, Barney — no love lost here.

Reported by The Hill, Rep. Frank won’t run for reelection:

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) will announce Monday that he is not seeking re-election, a spokesman said Monday morning.

Frank, the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee was the architect with Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) of the sweeping financial reform bill that bears their names.

From Big Government:

Democratic Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts is expected to announce his retirement from Congress on Monday, closing out a career of more than three decades capped by passage last year of legislation imposing new regulations on Wall Street.

[...]

For weeks, Politico and other lefty organs have been making happy-talk that the Democrats could win back control of the House in 2012. News like this tells you that ain’t going to happen.

Massachusetts, just two words of advice here: Sean Bialet.
