Quarterback Tim Tebow - 'Tebowing' is sweeping the nation

Football’s extraordinary quarterback and unabashed Christian Tim Tebow just can’t stay out of the news, even when he isn’t actually a part of the story.

We now have high school students being suspended for “Tebowing” — praying on one knee — and Tebow the Crime-busting Dog in Florida… first, the canine crime-fighting story, reported by Fox News, ‘Tebow’ Sniffs Out Cocaine in Suitcase at Orlando Airport:

ORLANDO, Fla. – The craze for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow rose to new zoological heights after an Orlando, Fla., airport sniffer dog named after him caught a drug trafficker.

A Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI) drug canine named “Tebow” sniffed out a suitcase containing a kilogram of cocaine at Orlando International Airport, leading to the arrest of Weslie Jadier Morales Castro, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

MBI agents said that they approached 20-year-old Morales Castro on Dec. 8 after he was spotted checking the tags on each piece of luggage on the carousel, as though he did not know which should be his.

Agents confronted him after he snatched a case, and drug-sniffing “Tebow” took a special interest in the bag, alerting authorities to its suspicious contents. A cocaine-stuffed children’s toy was found inside.

Morales Castro claimed that the suitcase, which was tagged for a Jose Garcia, did not belong to him — but later admitted that he was paid to take it to people at a nearby fast-food eatery.

AirTran Airways officials said that a Jose Garcia checked a suitcase for the Puerto Rico to Orlando flight but never boarded.

From Daily Mail, Tebow wins again! Drug sniffing dog named after the football star makes a cocaine bust:

Not only is Tebow scoring on the field but now he’s putting the name to good use in the fight against crime as well.

This time, however, it wasn’t the star Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow that made the impressive snatch but a drug-sniffing dog named in the football star’s honor.

The dog busted a man for trying to smuggle a kilogram of cocaine out of the Orlando International Airport on December 8.

Police approached a man at baggage claim who was acting suspicious, checking the name tags on each piece of luggage as if he did not know which bag he was supposed to grab.

Weslie Morales Castro, 20, picked up a suitcase with a tag for Jose Garcia. Police approached him, with Tebow in tow, who then sniffed the drugs stuffed into a children’s toy inside the bag.
The man himself: Tim Tebow is a legend in Florida since he went to college there

He then tried to bargain with police, saying he was ‘just a little fish’ and he was willing to help ‘catch the big fish’.

Those big fish were apparently waiting for him to drop the suitcase off at a nearby fast food restaurant.

Long Island Students Suspended for ‘Tebowing’

A class act, reported by NFL Sports:

When Tim Tebow heard about the Long Island students who were suspended for blocking their high-school hallway during a Tebowing session, the Broncos quarterback was quick to provide instruction: Follow the rules, young ones.

“You have to respect the position of authority and people that God’s put as authority over you,” Tebow told FOX Sports. “So that’s part of it and just finding the right place and the right time to do things is part of it, too. But I think it does show courage from the kids, standing out and doing that, and some boldness.”

Connor Carroll, a senior at Riverhead High, told Yahoo! Sports that he and three other male students received a one-day suspension Wednesday for Tebowing — the act of taking a silent knee in prayer as the Broncos quarterback is known to do.

The Tebowing craze has spread rapidly during the quarterback’s six-game winning streak, spawning a website and general hysteria.

This Tebow music video was posted to YouTube last week — it’s already had more than a million hits:

Tim Tebow – “All He Does Is Win”

Sadly and unsurprisingly, there are many who are set on mocking Tebow for his unwavering faith and for his before-and-after-game praying — but Tim Tebow has become an uplifting, refreshing phenomenon in a sport that is often fraught with drugs, steroid use, DUIs, and other disturbing, unsavory scandals, such as Penn State’s sexual child abuse atrocity. Loved this editorial posted at Boston Herald, Tim Tebow’s faith sets divine example:

The hullabaloo over Tim Tebow’s radiant faith says a lot more about his mockers than it does about him, for clearly this is a man quite comfortable in his own skin.

Christianity, to him, is not about a religion, but a personal relationship which, in his mind, had its roots back in his mother’s womb.

Pam Tebow ignited a similar furor two winters ago, when she obtained a 30-second Super Bowl spot to tell of how doctors implored her to terminate a pregnancy, concerned the unborn baby she was carrying might have been damaged by medicine she had ingested.

But she chose life, and that son she delivered 24 years ago is now the praying quarterback of the Denver Broncos who’ll be taking on the Patriots [team stats] tomorrow afternoon.

In constantly crediting and thanking God for where his path has taken him, Tebow has infuriated secularists as much as his mother enraged abortionists; like Mom, he knows what he believes, and why, and is not the least bit ashamed to proclaim it, which makes him a very odd duck in today’s world.

Tim Tebow, with reference to Bible passage Ephesians 2:8-10 in the eye black under his eyes, before the NCAA banned the practice

Tebow’s Bible passage of Ephesians 2:8-10:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

  2. I’d understand if he was putting up big numbers during games like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees, but Tim Tebow has below average numbers and his throws are ugly. I’m not a big football fan, but whenever I go on ESPN or some other sports site to catch up on the games and news, there’s always some article about “Tebow mania.”

Can someone explain why he gets so much attention, press, and hype?
    Keep up the posts!

Don’t know why this bothers you, since plenty of hype has been written about Rodgers, Brady, and Brees over the years, but since he is a young recruit, there is much excitement about him. His college performance speaks for itself, and I’m confident that he’ll grow into his big league QB role. Tebow’s Christian faith has many intrigued or interested – also, I don’t know of any cocaine-sniffing dogs named after the other three.

People talk about the Denver defense and how they deserve much credit. They … but the defense played so well as when Orton was under center. Tebow is a number, of course, is not impressive, but his presence, and only about their power has increased, that the defense plays, where they are one of the best in the league, because Tebow is taking over. whatever, we can get more info on http://www.tebowformvp.com/, thanx

Tebow is an inspiration in his faith. He is still young and with time and experience will become a legend.
