New Year’s Eve Message: Happy New Year, Eat Your Wheaties, Gird Your Loins, & God Bless America

Goodbye, 2011 - fasten your seat belt for 2012, America

Happy New Year to all of you… some sad news. My trusty home computer became gravely ill this week and is now in the ‘puter hospital.

So, regrettably, this could be my last post for a bit until she’s debugged and receives a clean bill of health. There are so many posts crying out to be written, screaming from the nation’s headlines and lodged in my head, for this last day of 2011.

C’est la vie. Once Ol’ Bessie comes home, or if I can scrounge up some quality computer time elsewhere (I’m struggling right now with my son’s laptop — flat keys on a keyboard are proving to be a trial to work with), we’ll get back down to the nitty-gritty business at hand. The business of digging and shining a light on the deceptions and corruptions and idiocies that lurk in the shadows of our government. Shine the disinfecting light of truth that makes loathsome cockroaches scatter.

Take a deep breath as we begin to stiffen our spines and strengthen our resolve. The bumpy socialist road these past three years with the Current Occupier of the Oval Office and sleazy corruptocrats will soon seem like a breezy stroll in Zuccotti Park, pre-Occupy Wall Street squalor, as we trudge through the muck and mud, closer to the November elections.

Or, as I like to think of it, “Obama’s Served His Walking Papers” Day.

It’s been an exasperating, frightening roller coaster of a year for those Americans who’ve been paying attention.

Patriots, it’s time to recharge your batteries, time to tap into your “inner Ronald Reagan”… time to stock up on Maalox, read the Constitution, expand your knowledge of American history and our founding fathers, and eat your Wheaties to be fully prepared for what’s ahead politically and socioeconomically in 2012. We’ll need to be vigilant and not knuckle under for the next 11 months.

It won’t be pretty and it won’t be easy saving our nation from destructive, self-serving socialist ideologies and progressive politicians’ power-grabbing in their efforts to “transform” America. But conservative values, government fiscal responsibility, personal liberties, and free market principles will prevail because that’s what the majority of American citizens want, what we crave, what our nation’s founders fought and died for. That’s what has made America so exceptional, so enviably great.

Don’t lose hope and don’t lose momentum.

It ain’t over ’til the Nanny State fat lady sings.

Or when the Empty Suit goes back to Chicago.

Or Hawaii. Or Kenya.

Wherever.

A quote from The Gipper, Ronald Reagan:

“When I took the oath of office, I pledged loyalty to only one special interest group — ‘We the People.’ Those people — neighbors and friends, shopkeepers and laborers, farmers and craftsmen — do not have infinite patience. As a matter of fact, some 80 years ago, Teddy Roosevelt wrote these instructive words in his first message to the Congress: ‘The American people are slow to wrath, but when their wrath is once kindled, it burns like a consuming flame.’ Well, perhaps that kind of wrath will be deserved if our answer to these serious problems is to repeat the mistakes of the past.”

Gird your loins, ladies and gents, and God bless you all. May God bless America as we enter the unknown of 2012.

God bless America and happy New Year

About the author

I'm a conservative frugalist. My priorities: Watchdogging the government, making sure our tax dollars are spent wisely, living within our budgets (at home and in Washington, DC), and adhering to our Constitution and the conservative principles upon which it was developed by our founding fathers. Also, loving God, my family, and my country. Be wise, be frugal. God bless America!
